Moses, Jesus… and Brian: A Life Changed on Set

We are still trying to shake off the jet lag from our July trip in Kenya. As you know, we returned to Ugunja to complete the recording of the Luo video library.
It was a meaningful time for our team to be able to work again with our mission partners and the Luo people who acted in the video Bible stories. It was a reunion with many of them returning to help us again.
From Acting to Believing: Brian's Journey to Faith in Kenya
We have shared in the past the impact just recording the videos has on lives. When we were in Ugunja last year, three students made professions of faith after just one day of recording stories with us.

I want to tell you about one actor in particular from our most recent trip. His name is Brian, a young man in his 20s. This year he was the actor who had the roles of Moses and Jesus!
Our mission partner and missionary to the Luo people, Betty said, “Brian didn’t even come to church on a regular basis. I met him at his workplace. I showed him one of the Luo Bible story videos. Since then, he has become an active part of our church, and even helps lead our youth!”
Brian adds, “Personally, it was my first time and I enjoyed every single bit of it. I learned about Bible stories that I hadn’t been told before. To me, it meant a lot that in the eyes of the Lord, we are all equal.”

When we began OneMessage.tv, we knew once the videos were edited that they would impact lives. But we had no idea how they could reach actors who are part of the production.
More Projectors = More Lives Touched
Before we left on this trip, we put out a call to our OneMessage.tv community about the need to provide solar-powered projectors to some of our mission partners. Many times they are setting up in remote places to show the videos, and these projectors meet very specific needs.
One of the new video projectors being used in a home Bible study in Ugunja, Kenya
These projectors have long-life batteries, and can even use solar panels to recharge the batteries. The package also includes a sound system that can be used for crowds of more than 100.
We set a goal of $3,000 and you all met and exceeded that goal in just a few days. Thank you so much!
After seeing the potential of these first two projectors we are considering making them a part of every project we do. So if you were not able to give yet, but want to give, there is still a need. You can give here.
As with every stage of this OneMessage.tv mission, it is only possible through the faithful hearts of our senders who pray and give.
Thank you so much!
