Prayer Needed After Colombia’s Earthquake 🙏🙏🙏



We continually see how your prayers impact us and the people groups we are reaching. Thank you for continuing to pray! Here are some specific ways you can pray this month.



PEOPLE GROUP OF THE MONTH


The Chamí people are the very first people group we ever created a video Bible story library for. 


Almost exactly seven years ago, our first production team traveled to the city of Pereira, Colombia to begin recording stories.


There are 30,000 Chami across the mountain communities in Colombia, and fewer than 2% are followers of Jesus.

They are oral learners, most of whom cannot read in their heart language.


OneMessage.tv production teams have worked alongside three different missionary couples who have ministered to the Chamí. So we have a long history with them.



This month, Colombia had a terrible earthquake. The morning of August 10th, a 7.4 earthquake was centered in Pereira. More than 320 people were killed, more than 4,600 others were injured, and more than 200 are still missing.


Our mission partners say the greatest need is money for food and water which is scarce. They are ministering through Send Relief. If you would like to learn more about helping, you can go to sendrelief.org.



PLEASE PRAY


  • Pray for the Chamí people. They already struggle economically and have few resources to recover from a disaster like this.



  • Pray for the churches in Pereira. OneMessage.tv has partnered with two of the churches for Colombian nationals there. By themselves, they would be overwhelmed to minister to their own needs, let alone the community around them.



  • Pray for our mission partners as they try to minister to the earthquake victims in the way that is most helpful.



  • Pray that our video Bible stories would find their way to Chamí people who need to know, in a way they can understand, that God loves them.



Your prayers have power! Please continue to pray for the oral learners who do not yet know that they are a part of God’s great story.
