We want you to know how to pray for OneMessage.tv and how to pray for the people groups we are interacting with. We have personally seen the impact of your prayers.



PEOPLE GROUP OF THE MONTH


The Somali people.They are known for their nomadic traditions and their primary religion is Sunni Muslim, which is the largest branch of Islam.


The Somalis in Somalia have an estimated population of more than 13 million people. But because of 30 years of unrest they are spread around the globe, including more than 3 million in Kenya. Fewer than two percent of all Somalis are evangelical and there is no church planting activity among their people.


The 3 million Somalis in Kenya allow unique access to the global Somali community. 


A OneMessage.tv team will be traveling there in September to begin creating video Bible stories in the Somali language. 


It is our prayer that these stories will travel to the Somali people around the world.


There are more Somali people outside of Somalia than inside the country. So reaching Somalis is uniquely possible through the digital world.



PLEASE PRAY


  • Pray for the production trip in September––for the travel, health, and safety of our team. These might be familiar requests, but they are so important.


  • Pray for security concerns with this people group. Because of the steeped background in Islam, there could be a threat to the local people who help us more than to the safety of our team.


  • Pray that the video Bible stories will find their way to Somali people around the world who need to know that they are a part of God’s story and love.



OTHER PRAYER NEEDS


We shared last month about the growing need to add staff inside the organization of OneMessage.tv. We wanted to share more about that need.


For the last two years, we have been able to fund and staff four production trips in a calendar year. But the demand for the video Bible stories is much greater. We can easily do 7 or 8 trips next year if we have the resources and the staff. So we are actively seeking two more media production missionaries between now and the end of 2026. Job descriptions will be posted on the OneMessage.tv website by the end of June.

  • Pray that God will lead us to the team members who we need to add.
