You gave just in time

Updated: Dec 16, 2024

The missionary leaned over and whispered in my ear, “I think he might be a little hungover this morning.”

He was talking about one of our actors, the man who was playing Cain in the story of Cain and Abel. That was the first time I met Albero.

Albero was part of the Chamí people in Colombia. He lived in a village of about a hundred people. There were only two believers in that village. Albero’s brother was one of them.

As the day of recording wore on, Albero warmed up, started to get to know the missionary, and came back for shooting the next day!

A few weeks later, he started asking the missionary questions about Jesus and being a Christian. And a few months after that, Albero was a baptized believer.

We consider Albero to be OneMessage.tv’s very first changed life!

The Doors Are Open

Just among the Chamí people, there are thousands like Albero was, lost and going to eternity without hearing God’s Word in a way they can understand. Around the world, there are more than 3,000 unreached people groups with millions of others just like Albero.

During the first five years of the OneMessage.tv ministry, we have been able to take two production trips each year. There are already three trips planned for the first half of next year, and we may make as many as five trips in 2025!

2025 – A Milepost Year

In January we will be returning to Thailand, in March we will begin a project with a new people group in Kenya, and we will return to complete a different language library in Kenya in July. Plus, we are in conversations with missionaries in Bangladesh and Guatemala about potential projects later in the year. The doors are opening faster than we can walk through them. The opportunities are coming faster than our current staff and resources can accommodate. We need your help!

You Changed Albero's Eternity

After Albero became a believer, he grew to be a valued member of the small group of Christians in his village. He started writing worship songs in the Chamí language, he helped translate video scripts into Chamí as well, and he was part of a small team that would travel to other villages and share God’s Good News.

A few weeks ago, we received the terrible news that Albero had been killed in a car wreck. No longer having his presence is a crushing loss to his village, to his family, and to the other Chamí believers.

But there is one shining piece to this tragedy, and that is, we know where Albero will spend eternity.

You Gave Just in Time!

So many people who make up the OneMessage.tv community give every month, so that God’s Word can be shared with oral learners in a way they can see, hear, and understand.

Because you gave, a life was changed!

But there is an urgency to carrying God’s Word to the unreached oral learners of the world. How many more Alberos are out there? How many lives can be reached next year?

Please make a special end-of-the-year gift to help us meet every opportunity God gives us in 2025 so that next year we can say “You gave just in time.”

Thank you!
